Knitwear

Hi everyone :)

Winter is upon us :) I for one love it. We have just had the first bit of snow here and our Christmas market has recently opened it's doors. I am finally getting into the Christmas spirit which also involves warm clothes to snuggle into.

This for me means a lot of knitwear. I absolutely love the warmth of it and how cosy wearing knitwear makes me feel.
Knitwear is an absolute essential for me in winter, that being knitted jumpers or cardigans or scarfs or whatever else. Best thing are knitted socks though, no arguing about that please!

So in honor of all the great knitwear out there I have put together some outfits with the bits and piece I have in my wardrobe.
Since I look a bit funny today due to the fact that I have spend the whole day studying at the library and it is really cold outside I will not torture you with having to look at my face today and rather just leave you with the clothes. That way you won't get distracted by how weird I look either :D

leather jacket: Zara, dress: h&m, necklace: promod, scarf: pieces

Wore this the other day but it wasn't as cold then. Although the dress is really comfy and keeps you quite warm :)

jumper: only, scarf: pieces, trousers: zara, top: h&m

I tend to wear a thin tip under the jumper depending on how cold it is and the jumper is a bit see through. But you could also wear it with a nice black bra underneath I have worn it like that before.

jumper: zara, dress: h&m

I especially love this one because it is a bit less casual then the other to and you can wear it with a pair of boots or with heels and it looks great.

cardigan: asos, dress: mangoo

This is literally my favourite piece of clothing in winter, I am simply in love with this cardigan. It's long and so great for just throwing on on to of whatever is not warm enough.

Enjoy the snow everyone :)
I sure do!

Musical Monday

Hi everyone :)

It is time to listen to some new music. You ready?
Lets do this :)

Max Schneider & Danny Padilla - Counting Stars (cover)

As you might have guessed by now I am a bit of a fan of Max Schneider I just love the arrangements of his covers. They are unique while still being covers.

The next one is a live performance of Rudimental on BBC Radio 1

Enjoy :)

Creative Sunday

Hi everyone :)

If you are not okay with me liking One Direction or with me acting like a child you should stop right here and come back tomorrow, because yesterday was 1D-Day and I loved every second of the 7 and a halt hours of idiotic behavior.
So yeah that happened :)

Now so far this doesn't have  much to do with creativity but we are coming to that very shortly :)
So yesterday being 1D-Day with a 7 hour live stream that started at 8pm and went on till 3.30 am ish I did not have time to blog yesterday. I spend my day making pancakes for hungover people that stayed at hour place, then I went back to bed to catch up on some sleep ( we had a party at our place on Friday night and I think I went to bed at around 4 am and got up at 8.30 am to go to the supermarket and to make pancakes), after that there was a bit of studying and then my friend M. arrived and we went to the shops again to buy some snacks and stuff for the 7 hours we were going to spend in my bed watching 5 idiots doing weird stuff and trying to break records.
Yeah and by the time we got back the live stream was about to start which equals no time for a blog post.
I hope I am forgiven and even if I am not: This is my blog and I shall do as I please :D

However before we get further into this live stream and how it basically ruined every little piece of self control I had left we should get to the creative part of this Sunday.
My dear friend M. knows that I like a bit of One Direction here and there. I am not their biggest fan and I most certainly know a lot less about them than others do but I appreciate their music and the looks of a certain Mr. Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
Sue me!

So M. took it upon herself to make me the most amazing birthday gift ever. And by that I don't mean that in the way that I liked it the most (which I did but that's besides the point) but in the way that it truly was amazing. She told me months ago that she was making something for me but I had no clue as to what that was, well not until yesterday anyway.
So brace yourself for seeing real art and be ready to have your mind blown :) It sure as hell blew mine.

I love it!
That is literally all I can say. It looks amazing and so real. I mean you don't even have to be a 1D fan to appreciate the fact that these are truly amazing.
And if you then ad the truly perfect birthday card I got as well it just makes it more perfect :)

Yes I do love M. even though here photoshopping skills might not be the best. Although I actually found out that it isn't photoshopped at all but more like cut out and put back together :) Regardless everyone I have shown this birthday card to has loved it so far.
Granted I did laugh when I first saw it because it is a bit ridiculous, since I never saw myself being put into a picture with Harry Styles but hey I am not complaining :D

And as for 1D-Day:
Can we just take a moment and talk about this?

I mean same Niall (I actually love tumblr for this one :D).
And at this point I really don't care if you like 1D or not but you can not tell me that that boy right there is not hot. I know he is only 19 and all that but that doesn't make him any less fit :P
I just realised that his post is purely about Harry. Well deal with it!!

Here is another thing about last night that I found quite brilliant, probably due to the fact that, again, a lot of shiftlessness was involved and lets be honest: who doesn't like a bit of that?
And because it describes perfectly well what I watched for 7 and a half hours last night :D

To add to what we actually did during those seven hours I will tell you: We ate as many sweets as we could! It was fun, although I did feel a bit sick after :D

Yeah that is as far as my brain will go today with the lack of sleep and having to deal with all of this shirtless stuff going on here.
I will be fine until tomorrow and ready to get serious again, as for today: I am just going to continue drooling over this and appreciating how freaking hot he is, literally :D And the fact that I really like the placement of that swallow tattoo, even though I am still not sure about that butterfly.

People are so cruel sometimes

Hi everyone :)

There is these two videos on Youtube that have both gone viral that I find funny although I probably shouldn't :D

So before we start we should watch them so we are all on the same page here :)

Snuffy the Seal

Bunnies can fly

Yeah so there we go.
Both videos are quite popular and in both videos a somewhat cute animal dies.
And yet we tend to find that funny! I mean what is wrong with us?
Okay I will admit when I watch the 'Bunnies can fly' video for the first time I was kind off just waiting for something bad to happen because why else would someone put that on YouTube?
And that is just it: Why did there have to be something wrong with that video? Why do we instantly get this feeling that something like a hawk is going to eat it?
I am pretty sure that close to no one would have watched the clip if it would have just been a bunny running around in someones front garden.
Don't you find that strange? This need for something spectacular/unexpected to happen?
And what's even worse is that we laugh about it. I felt really bad after watching it and laughing but I still did.
I mean poor kid her bunny got eaten or the kids in that first clip. They must be traumatized and yet I still find it funny.
Can't help it :D I am a bad person and i will admit it now, arrest me! :P

Did you laugh?
Do you think it's okay to laugh?
I can't really tell why I did laugh maybe you can?
I mean it's probably the irony of it all. They nursed Snuffy back to health and were about to release him into the ocean and snap: He gets eaten by a shark. That is just so ironic but it also is nature so I guess there wasn't much we could have done about it. It's the same with the bunny: Hawks eat bunnies, it's just a little sad that it had to be this one.
Although the daughter in the clip did not quite get it :) And where the parents thought they had to explain how nature works to her she just said: Look mum the bunny can fly.
The innocence of a child, it's precious :D

Steve Booker

Hi everyone :)

I don't actually know how many of you are male or female so I thought I would do this weeks fashion input for all the male readers out there.
So hi to you it has been a while since something fashion related was actually useful for men :D

As the title of this weeks blog post already states we are going to take fashion advice from Steve Booker, a cool guy with great style and a good sense for fashion.
He not only has his own blog, where he recommends thing,s but also runs a Youtube channel.
Both of these platforms are focused on lifestyle and fashion and even though I am a girl I still enjoy reading his blog. He does have great opinions about combining colours and either wearing down outfits or pimping them up a bit. I know that he talks about that related to clothes for men but still take quite a view things away from it.

His blog is very well structured and not to full on. It has a clear design which makes it easy to actually focus on the content rather then get distracted by bright colours. I would go as far as saying it's a kind of 'grown up' look.

All the links to his social media sites are linked on his blog and I do recommend checking them all out.

taken from http://www.stevebooker.co.uk/

I like the outfit and the pictures isn't boring either. It's focus lies on what he is wearing but at the same time doesn't reduce itself to just that, which is what I like about all of his pictures used on the blog.

So do go and check out his blog as well as his YouTube channel for some input on everything fashion and lifestyle :)
YouTube - to see a bit of behind the scenes
Blog - for a bit of British style

Musical Monday

Hi everyone :)

Before we start lets get one thing out of the way: Yes the only music I am excited about today is One Directions new album that got leaked this morning, deal with it! :P
And now that I got that off my chest lets move on to music that all of you might be interested in as well!

Now I know this is not necessarily considered a song but that does not make it less genius!

James - Laid

If you don't liek this next song, please don't tell me because I wil get very defensive and might quite possibly never talk to you again. Yes I feel very strongly about it but in my world that is totally okay :D

Josh Record - Bones

And not only do I love the song but also the music video!

Enjoy :)

Creative Sunday

Hi eversyone :)

Blog post 2 of the day :)
Something creative to make your day a bit less grey and boring.

We all take selfies from time to time or try to make them great portraits but let me tell you none of us are as talented as Kyle Thompson. Well at least I am not :)
The portraits he takes of himself are amazing and not only that they also are the epitome of creative.

These pictures are beautiful beyond explainable. They are raw and deep at the same time. I absolutely love them.

I feel like there is a part of himself in every one of the portraits he takes like he is trying to take a picture of every side of himself.

Every picture he takes of himself is different it never shows the same person although it is always Kyle.

I got all of theses off his Tumblr which you should really go and check out. There is not only self portraits on there and I am sure you will find more then one picture that absolutely blows you away!

Also pay a visit to his Kickstarter.

Birthday Days

Hi everyone :)

Don't you just love birthdays? And not just for the obvious reason: presents.
I enjoy my birthday every year because I get to spend the day with people I truly care about and more importantly who truly care about me.
I would never invite someone to a birthday party of mine just because they invited me, it just doesn't feel right.

Everyone should spend their birthday surrounding themselves with people they love whether that being family or friends.
Last year my mum, dad, grandma, aunt, godmother and 2 friends of ours came to Augsburg for my birthday and it was a great weekend. This year however none of my family came, well except for my cousin :) But I still had the best birthday maybe a little more stressful in the whole preparing process but a great day nonetheless.

My dear friend M. surprised me by coming over on Friday and helping me out with all the cleaning and baking that was going on. And yes that was after my very whiny blog post. Sorry again for that one :D

We still stayed up till 2.30 am until everything was done, but that was a good thing because at around 2 am my sister called to congratulate me :)
And those lat night calls or the unexpected one from friend that you haven't talked to in a while are the best. The ones that you just don't expect to happen.

Another thing that always makes me extremely happy are the kind of gifts that you didn't ask for but are really thoughtful. For example: I got headphones from my cousin because she remembered that I said I wanted those bigger ones like she had ages ago. Or the little monster salt and pepper pots from two of my friends. The know I love cooking and the little casters are just really cute :)
And even though I absolutely love gift (I mean who doesn't?) I don't need them. If all of those people had just come to my birthday lunch and had a good time that would have been enough.
Like the two friend that arrived on Saturday. I don't see them often but when I do we always have a great time. I didn't get anything from them but they know me well enough to be sure that them coming was all that I needed from them.
I don't know how many of you would think talking s*** all day, eating to many sweets and crisps and having a silly High School Musical marathon would make a great birthday gift but I sure as hell do.
That meant more to me then all the gifts that I got that day. And anyone who got me something and is reading this now: I loved everything so so much and thank you for getting me what you did.

I know there always is the occasional friend who completely forgets about your birthday and that kind of hurts but don't let those feelings drag you down, embrace the time you get with people who didn't!

I guess what I am trying to say is: A birthday for me is about the people you spend it with and not what you get given.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone :)

So I am 22. Wow!
Weird I don't feel any different is that normal?
I had planned to have a brunch at 11am with a couple of friends and it turned out a lot better then I expected it to be :)
I did bake a cake on Friday night which I was really stressed about, as you know if you read yesterdays post but it all went well.

That is pretty much how we felt after our brunch. But I think we won the fight against the food.

And since I got a lot of really amazing gifts I thought I would share them with you guys :)

The one thing I am really looking forward to reading is the book. It is a autobiography of a radio host that I have been meaning to rad for ages :)

And I got tickets to a Phantom of the Opera show in Hamburg from my dad. I can not wait to go and see it. I wanted to go again ever since I first saw it with my dad 7 years ago.
And Hamburg is a city I haven't seen yet so that should be quite exciting :)

Don't you just love my cute little salt and pepper cellars?

I had a really good day with a lot of great people surrounding me :)

Sorry

Hi everyone :)

I am a horrible person I know but there will be not be a proper post today. I am just to stressed out at the moment.

I have spend my morning writing a paper for uni and the rest of the day with cleaning this filthy place of a flat. Yeah that is what you have to put up with if you choose to live with 3 guys, not that I am complaining, but it does get rather dirty every now and than. And it is not like I don't let them clean but lets be honest here for a second: Unless there is enough dust for it to be visible and enough shaved off hair collected on the sink no one other than me will clean it up :D

Other than that I have been baking today and buying food for my birthday lunch tomorrow morning. Right now my cake is in the oven and the kitchen is half way cleaned which gives me about 20 minutes to write this and clean the rest of the kitchen.
And there still is a dirty hallway and quite a untidy bedroom waiting for me.
So I hope you guys can forgive me for not posting anything other than this bit of ramble.
There will quite possibly be 2 posts on Sunday though, as I will have enough stuff for 3 blog posts by then :)

Enjoy your Friday night guys, which you will hopefully not spend with your arms deep in slop from cleaning and hurting knees from fidgeting about on the floor :D
Sorry for being a bit whiney tonight guys I just am really stressed and tired and as of right now there is no end in sight.
But it will all be worth it tomorrow when a lot of lovely people come to visit to have a hopefully more amazing lunch with me :)

Just to entertain you at least a little bit tonight :)

Yes I will never get enough of this picture :D Because it states so perfectly what I wanted to do all day while I was cleaning1
And quite possibly some of this as well :

Have a good night :)

Throwback Thursday - Birthdays

Hi everyone :)

It is my birthday in 2 days and I am really excited. Quite a view people that mean a lot to me are coming to Augsburg and I am just really really looking forward to that.
Even though I won't be seeing my family. But they will call I am sure of it. I actually can't wait to see how many people forget my birthday again. Last year only 2 of my friends called and the rest just forgot. Well apart from my flatmates that baked me a cake that then burned in the oven so they had to redo it :D

Birthdays have always been special when I was little because my mum would usually make kind off a big deal of it. On our birthday, after we got up we would have breakfast together and obviously cake and our whole kitchen would be decorated with garlands, balloons and confetti. And of course lots of candles.
Until I was about 10 we had our candles on a birthday tree. I know that probably none of you have any idea what that is so  here you go:

That is the 'tree' and the birthday cake my mum made every year. It tasted of sweet woodruff and we loved that cake. I think I asked for it every year until I moved out and she couldn't make me a cake anymore :)
And we always had dinner with my aunts, uncles, grandma and cousins on our birthdays. My mum cooked the craziest things :D She always used those dinners to try new recipes, which wasn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong my mum is a great cook but it got a bit freaky from time to time :)

Did you have birthday traditions when you were younger?
I would love to know :)

13 November 2013

What even is this?

Hi everyone :)

I had no clue what to write about today. I think i am a bit stuck in some sort of writers block right now. Or my creativity is just running low I have no idea.
Which is not actually the reason I didn't blog yesterday but as you might have realised I didn't last week either. That is due to the fat that I have decided to take one day a week of to collect myself and think of new things to write about.
Because believe it or not it actually is quite a lot of work to write a post everyday. Except for Monday's :D

So since today was supposed to be about fashion I came to realise that I actually have not been paying attention to what I was wearing over the last couple of days.
I spend my weekend in leggings and big jumpers studying for uni and writing a paper. On Monday  winter really started. Or at least it was the first time it got really cold and I just wore whatever kept me warm. So lots of layers and scarfs and beanies. And today I spend in pyjamas because I am a bit ill.
So this week has not been very fashionable for me :D
Maybe except for Friday night when I went to my godmothers birthday party with my mum.
And since most of my clothes are either in the wash at the moment or still in my suitcase that I have yet to unpack I don't really have that many outfits to wear right now anyway.

So you will probably have to wait till next week when hopefully I will not only be dressed well again but also my writers block will be gone.
I hate sitting in front of my laptop not knowing what to blog about.

As a little side note:
I found this today which I thoroughly enjoyed :)
Its genius and kind of funny at the same time... Or maybe only I find that guy singing really high funny, I don't know :D

Musical Monday

Hi everyone :)

I am really excited to share this weeks music with you because simply put this song is one of the best I have heard this year. I love it and the fact that Ed Sheeran has written it only makes it better.

I don't know who has already heard it but if you haven't prepare yourself for your new favourite song :)
Ed Sheeran wrote this song for the new Hobbit movie and it is genius.

Ed Sheeran - I see Fire

I have actually been listening to a lot of Ed Sheeran this week it is fair to say that I have rediscovered my love for his music. No only is he a great artist but also has an amazing voice.

Another one is this beauty:

Bastille - The Things we lost in the Fire

Enjoy!

Sunday Realisations

Hi everyone :)

So I basically spend my Sunday on a bus coming back to Augsburg. We got into a bit of traffic and I arrived 2 hours later than planned. Okay to be fair 'a bit of traffic' was probably the biggest understatement of the day.

While I had practically nothing else to do then spend time thinking I came to realise 2 things.
1. I think I might be falling for someone and fast
2. I am going to be 22 in less then a week and still have now clue as to what I want to do with my life

Both of those are slightly freaking me out right now and I have no idea how to deal with either. So I came to another realisation: I am going to study harder and work more so I can maybe figure out what I want to do with myself because I can't really do much about number 1! Although I am quite possibly going to massively fail at the studying bit because I have the concentration span of a mayfly :D
We will just have to wait and see.
For now I am absolutely knackered and just want to go to bed but I will keep you guys updated on everything going on in my love life and the rest. However I have to admit that saying it out loud ( the fact that I might be falling for a certain someone) kind of scared the crap out of me. And I don't know if writing about it is the right way of handling it but for now it feels good.
Wow none of you are probably interested in this at the moment but that is all you are going to get from me today :)

Have a good start of the week and I shell see you tomorrow with some really good music, I can't wait to share :)

In Extremo

Hi everyone :)

So I am at home this weekend because my mum bought me concert tickets as a birthday gift and today was the day.
The tickets she got for me were for a In Extremo concert and I just had my mind blown it was that good.
Now I have never seen them live before and neither has my mum but it was such a good show. 2 hours of pure entertainment and songs to die for.

Although you have to like that kind of music :)
I love it and so does my mum. She actually is the one that got me hooked on Rammstein and all those kinds of bands and I know I probably look nothing like someone who you would expect to listen to that music but honestly: Who the f*** cares?
We certainly did not really fit into the crowd tonight with the way we were dressed but that is the great thing about concerts like these: No one seems to mind. You are accepted as long as you like the same music.

We had such an amazing time singing along screaming till we had no voice left and I loved every second of it.
Concerts are a really great thing and whenever the band you like has a gig close to you you should really go. It will be worth it.

I am still kind of high on adrenalin but at the same time I am just really really tired because it was quite a long drive to get there and to get home.
Sorry for being a bit rubbish this weekend. It's just that there has been a lot going on with my aunts birthday on Friday and I literally went from uni to work to the train station and when I got home to my aunts birthday. Came home in the middle of the night and just fell into bed straight away :)
Lets just agree on me being really busy at the moment and promising to be better from now on :)
I still really appreciate every single one of you who reads my blog!!

Throwback Thursday

Hi everyone :)

Sorry it got so late. I was talking to my mum for quite a while today after I got home from uni.
It's really weird, I always talk to her the longest right before I see her again.
Tomorrow I'll be going home for the weekend and to a concert with my mum on Saturday as an early birthday gift.
We still talked tonight though, so it got a little late:)
I actually forgot about time. It gets dark so early that I always think it's not that late yet because time can't have passed that quickly since it was 5 pm and got dark. But now it is 11pm and I should really upload this post :)

We talked about me as a baby and how I was growing up. And I got a couple of funny/ endearing stories to share.

Lets start with the first picture ever taken of me, at least if you don't count the baby bump ones.
This was taken in hospital after they made this footprint.

That guy with the amazing old school glasses is my dad
by the way :)

And yes I do only have 4 toes :D I don't really though. I have 5 toes on every foot and 10 in total but somehow on this footprint my second toe on my right foot decided it didn't want to be in the picture :D Yeah my toes have their own minds apparently.

I am not that much older in this picture but the reason I like it so much is, because I can't believe how small I was. I know we are all born fairly small but I mean my head is smaller then my dads hand, that just seems tiny.
I now understand why I don't feel too comfortable with pretty young babies, they just look like they would be so easy to break. Like no matter what you do you can only hurt them. I remember the day my cousin gave me her daughter for the first time, I was terrified of doing something wrong.

I have this picture framed in my room and I would love to be able to remember that moment. I can't imagine how safe you must feel being held like that. Just for someone to be able to wrap you in their hand and shield you from the world must be the best feeling in the world.
On a bad day I just want to curl into myself and never leave my bed how amazing would it be to be held like that when you feel really down?
I would give a lot for that experience. Wouldn't you?

'Oi what do you want?' :D

This one is just for looking at and admiring the endearing look on my face :D I think it looks hilariously cute if that is even possible :D
I have tried really hard to recreate this picture and post it up here but I have miserably failed. I am sorry!
